Global Team

The Rooted in Trust Global Team is a central hub of experts in risk communication, data analysis, health and science reporting and research in information ecosystems. This team creates tools, resources and undertakes research to contribute to regional and global responses to the infodemic. Through active collaboration and participation in humanitarian coordination mechanisms, and working together with the Internews Health Journalism Network the global team elevates best practice in rumor management from our ten project countries to the global stage.

We work with our global partner, Translators without Borders (as part of CLEAR Global) to understand and respond to the language and literacy barriers that contribute to the spread of rumors and misinformation about the pandemic. Speakers of marginalized languages often can’t access information they need and want in a language and format they understand. This prevents them from finding information about health, learning or their rights.

Talkwalker powers our AI supported response to social media data. Their social listening tool allows us to triangulate rumor data collected from a variety of online and offline sources to quantify reach and impact.
