Soudan du sud

Aperçu du pays
In South Sudan Rooted in Trust 2.0 is working to address the impacts of pandemic related information in Central Equatoria, Eastern Equatoria, Upper Nile, Unity State, Jonglei, Greater Pibor Administrative Area and Lakes State. These regions are selected because of the level of humanitarian crises and the existence of vulnerable communities. There are gaps in offline activities and lack of social media response activities despite the increasing circulation of rumors of social media platforms. Rooted in Trust 2.0 will undertake an Information Ecosystem Assessment through the analysis of dynamic information ecosystems in these target communities.
Rooted in Trust 2.0 South Sudan is producing data-driven products like the Lugara Media Factsheets, Lugara Community Factsheets, Lugara Humanitarian Bulletin, and the Flashcards for social media platforms.
The Rooted in Trust 2.0 South Sudan leads the Rumor Tracking Sub Committee, co-leads the Media Engagement Subcommittee and the Communication Community Engagement Subcommittee. We are also active members of the Risk Communication Community Engagement Working Group.
Rooted in Trust 2.0 South has a Peer-to-Peer Network which acts as an exclusive space for journalists to directly interact among themselves in open discussions, share information, ideas, and concerns as they receive technical support from Internews. IEA FULL REPORT (ENGLISH) - FEBRUARY 2023
LIVING IN INFORMATION LIMBO: THE CASE OF INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS IN SOUTH SUDAN
This is a group of people that were displaced from their homes by either natural disasters such as flooding, or conflicts. Such insecurity and intercommunal conflicts disrupt the flow of information in the community and among vulnerable groups – those who do not have strong social connections and thus have limited access to reliable information. Food insecurity induced by a combination of famine, natural disasters, and a lack of sustainable agricultural practices is perceived as one of the pressing issues in the communities.

IEA FULL REPORT - MARCH 2023
The Forgotten: An IEA for People with Disabilities in South Sudan
Despite their unique needs and specific vulnerabilities, these are often submerged under the category of ‘most vulnerable’. Organisations working with and representing People with Disabilities are often absent from humanitarian programming and the needs of People with Disabilities are thus not included in response action. To ensure that Internews’ Rooted in Trust 2.0 (RiT 2.0) Information Ecosystem Assessments (IEAs) are inclusive of People with Disabilities, this study assessed access to information and information flows among People with Disabilities in Central Equatoria and Northern Bahr El- Ghazal states in South Sudan.
